Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
EQIP was reauthorized in the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act
of 2002 (Farm Bill) to provide a voluntary conservation program for
farmers and ranchers that promotes agricultural production and environmental
quality. EQIP offers financial and technical help to assist eligible
participants install or implement structural and management practices
on eligible agricultural land.
Section 9006 of the Farm Bill
Section 9006 of the Farm Bill authorized creation of the Renewable
Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Program. For Fiscal
Year 2005, $22.8 million in grants is available for eligible agricultural
producers and rural small businesses to purchase renewable energy
systems and make energy improvements
BioEnergy Program
The Bioenergy Program seeks to expand industrial consumption of agricultural
commodities by promoting their use in production of bioenergy (ethanol
and biodiesel).
