Trucking

Medium and heavy-duty trucks are a vital part of the goods movement sector, connecting ports and production centers to communities across North America. At the same time, this sector emits significant amount of pollution and collaboration is required to reduce these emissions. This page provides information about current and emerging trucking fleet emissions reduction projects and funding programs in the West Coast region. It also highlights trucking emissions reductions resources. The WCC focuses on strategies to reduce medium and heavy-duty diesel truck emissions along major transportation corridors and near population centers by providing information on innovative financing, public and private funding assistance, technology developments, and low emission alternative fuels. The WCC also funds a variety of Trucking Projects and administers EPA funding programs such as the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) and the Inflation Reduction Act's (IRA) Clean Heavy Duty Vehicle programs.
